This week, I would like you to start each day by speed reading words in one of the Reading Challenges. It is really important that we read many words instantly to build up fluency and speed. Go and choose your challenge now by clicking the man below!
All worksheets to accompany the following activities can be found on Teams. Please complete all tasks before handing in your work. Don't forget to use the 'turn in' function when you have finished your work. Also look out for feedback when I return your work.

Discussion: Should animals be kept in zoos?
Lesson 5: To give personal opinions and learn the language needed to do this
In this lesson we will think about how we can develop our own opinions using the discussion text about animals in zoos. We will then use these strategies (words and phrases) to apply it to other discussion points. Write your answer to one of the questions asked and give your opinion. Do this in your Home Learning book. Use words like those below to start your sentences.
Science: Plant habitats
Task 1: Watch the video presentation below to learn about different plants and their habitats. Complete the worksheet on Teams to match plants to their habitats.
Task 2: Go on a habitat hunt. This could be in the garden at home or at school. how many different plant and animal habitats can you find? Think about why the habitat is a good habitat for the plant or animal. How does it provide everything it needs? Remember a habitat is where a living thing lives. It must have the food, water and space that a living thing needs.

You must read your reading book every day, just as we do in school. We do this after lunch but you can do it whenever you like! An adult must sign your diary to show this has taken place. You can of course read some of your own books at home to supplement reading. It would be great if this could be recorded in your diary too.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
