Don't be bored over the summer holidays!
Notts Summer Staycation has lots of lovely ideas of things to try and things to do in this pack.
Why not give some of them a go?
As you are aware, we are really lucky in Newstead village to have lots of outdoor space to explore. Some of these areas have water in them and it is really important that we respect this.
Not just by making sure that we don't drop litter or being careful with the beautiful wildlife around the water, but because water safety is important!
Take a look at the link below to see some water safety activities and games from the Canal and River Trust
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Beginning our Summer Term in an entirely unusual way, we continue to actively encourage you and your child/ren to keep busy with a variety of activities and certainly not just English and Maths.
Children have been emailing pictures of some of their efforts to their class teacher and this has been added to the class page. Take a look - you might find some inspiration for something to have a go at.
Whether it's Joe Wicks workouts or re-runs of Bob Ross painting on Youtube, to redesigning a spring wardrobe for your favourite doll. It could even be a simple as learning to tie your shoe laces. (Easy when you know how!)
Since schools were closed, the government has made partnerships with different organisations, who are now able to support our children's learning.
From Monday 20th April, the BBC have invested in learning for school children and have produced a variety of online lessons.
They are also running 'Bitesize Daily' between 9am and 11am where they will stream live lessons on BBC iPlayer. If you miss a lesson, don't worry, you can catch it up on BBC iPlayer.
Also, in collaboration with teachers, there is a new virtual school website available. It is aimed to be used by teachers but there are lessons for school starters all the way up to A Level work.
We would suggest that your child follows the links below and has a look at what is on offer to them.
It is broken down into year groups, but there would be no harm in looking at some of the other year groups, if there was something of interest for them.
Please remember, whether you are a pupil or a parent, we are still here for you. We miss you greatly and still want to support you wherever we can. There are email addresses on your child's class page. Please don't feel as though your problem is too trivial, we really do want to help.
If a piece of work is too hard or frustrating and it is causing friction within the house, it may be worth giving it a miss for now and come back to it later.
The well-being of our pupils, our families and our local community is very important, so please get in touch.
There are more links for work on your child's class page.
Take care and stay safe.
There are lots of challenges on here for each year group. Each one has some help for you to explain what to do. You can even download some worksheets to practise and apply your skills.
If you're not sure which one to do, have a look on your class page.
Or why not try some of these
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
