Usually on a Friday you would do a free write. As its half term next week I would like you to do a reflective piece of writing about your first term of home schooling in 2021. I would like you to include what you have found challenging, what you have enjoyed, what has been special about being at home, what you wish you could have done. Chinese New Year
Today is Chinese New Year. We've already had our new year which begins the 1st January every year.
There is a PowerPoint on the school website which is all about the Chinese New Year- take a look and learn a bit more about Chinese New Year and why they celebrate their New Year later than we do.
With the Chinese New Year, each New Year has a sacred animal (a bit like a zodiac sign.).
Take a look at the link below to see what your Chinese Zodiac Sign is. They also have different characteristics, take a look to see if you share the same ones!

My Chinese Zodiac sign is a Rooster. It is a symbols of good news and it is said that people born in the year of the Rooster are honest and hard working.
Finally, take some time away from the screen, do something creative or active. You could do some crafting (if you're in school please ask an adult to help you with the craft materials in the cupboard), maybe you could do some baking or design your dream meal- whatever you choose to do let me know what you get up to and feel free to send photos to maple@newstead.notts.sch.uk.
Have a wonderful work-free week. You should be really proud of yourselves!
Over the half term, Mrs Walsh and I have set all children in the school a set of challenges. I hope you will take part and have lots of fun.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
