Topic
By searching the Internet, I have found a detailed old Victorian Ordnance Survey (1888-1913).
Click on the link and it should take you to Newstead Village.
Now on the website, you should see a map slider (it is labelled) You can change the map from Victorian Newstead to the modern day.
There are 2 things that you need to do this afternoon. Firstly, find out what the Ordnance Survey do and why it might be useful to us. Secondly, I want you to take a close look and compare the Newstead area of Victorian times and then of modern times. I hope you will be amazed at difference. You may need to look up some of the symbols, but I think that you will be able to work out what was there and what is now.
