Summer 2

This term we will be asking the question: What can you find on a farm? This is a science based topic that focuses on learning about habitats. We will also be looking at sketching and presentation skills.

Summer 1

This term we will be asking the question: If I could live anywhere, where would you live? This is a design technology based topic that focuses on learning about freestanding structures. We will also be looking at geography - comparing Newstead Village with Kenya in Africa. This topic will enable us to explore African Art and patterns. 

Spring 2

This term we will be asking the question: Who can I ask for help? This is a design technology based topic that focuses on learning about wheels and axles. We will also be looking at history from beyond living memory - looking at nurturing nurses  from the past how they have influenced nursing today.

Spring 1

This term we will be asking the question: How do I make sense of the world? This is a science based topic that focuses on learning about materials and our senses. We will also be looking at Art - looking at famous paintings and recreating this in our own way and through computing - using a paint app.

Autumn 1

This term we will be asking the question: What makes me, me? This is a Art based topic that focuses on learning about lines and tones, colours and portraits. We will also be looking at local history as we learn more about where we come from.
