The Unlucky Man lesson 4: To show not tell how a character is feeling
In this lesson, we will be revealing the character of the unlucky man through the thoughts and feelings of other characters. Write a short diary entry in role as either the tree or the wolf showing what happened their thoughts and feelings about their meeting with the Unlucky Man.
Y1: Write 2-3 sentences or as much as you want to complete your diary entry! Don't forget to use a capital letter to start each sentence, finger spaces and the correct punctuation mark at the end of each sentence.
Challenge: Use ! and ?
Y2: Write a short paragraph (4-6 sentences). Use different sentence types; questions, statements and exclamations. Don't forget to use the correct punctuation mark at the end of each sentence.
Challenge: Try to use some adjectives and verbs to describe the Unlucky man
Watch the presentation below. Today, you are going to create an algorithm to move a toy or figure from one place to another. Ask a friend or family member to check your algorithm and debug your mistakes.
Choose the map of the School or the farm in Teams, decide where you want your character to start from and where you want them to get to. Write your algorithm in your Home Learning Book.
You must read your reading book every day, just as we do in school. We do this after lunch but you can do it whenever you like! An adult must sign your diary to show this has taken place. You can of course read some of your own books at home to supplement reading. It would be great if this could be recorded in your diary too.
