Florence Nightingale's letter home
Imagine you are Florence Nightingale and you have just arrived in Scutari, Turkey to help the wounded soldiers. Write a short letter home describing the conditions in the hospital. Watch the video (below) again if you need to. I have also included the page from our class text for you to read to help you with this task. This is saved on Teams.

Write your letter in your Home Learning book and start it like I have below. Don't forget to write the date on the top line at the right hand side and underline it with a ruler.
Dear Family,
I arrived at the hospital today.
Try to describe sights, sounds and smells. Try to create a picture with words. Remember to use capital letters, full stops and lots of adjectives to describe!
You must read your reading book every day, just as we do in school. We do this after lunch but you can do it whenever you like! An adult must sign your diary to show this has taken place. You can of course read some of your own books at home to supplement reading. It would be great if this could be recorded in your diary too.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
