Welcome back everyone and an especially big welcome to our new starters this term. We hope you all had a good Easter break.
The question we are asking this half-term is 'If you could live anywhere, where would you live?' and as part of this topic, we will be learning about habitats and life cycles of different animals. We are even lucky enough to have some tadpoles in the Nursery garden, so we can watch for ourselves how a tiny tadpole slowly changes into a frog!
Our books this term are 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and 'The Odd Egg'.
Weekly information:
Monday is 'Muddy Monday' - please provide wellies or keep them at Nursery for this morning
Wednesday is library book day - please return your old library book and remember your book bag
Thursday is our Physical Development session with Miss. Martin - please can you send your child to Nursery in comfortable clothes and trainers.
If you have any questions, please feel free to send a message via our class dojo and we'll get back to you.
Thank you again for your continued support,
Mrs. Wensley and Mrs. Lambert.
Welcome back everyone!
We can't wait to get stuck into our topic 'Who can I ask for help?' over the next few weeks. We're going to have lots of fun meeting our new starters and welcoming everyone back into Nursery.
Just remember!
Muddy Mondays - You will need your wellies
Thursday mornings - You will need to come in suitable P.E. clothes and footwear.
Thank you,
Mrs. Wensley and Mrs. Lambert.
Welcome back!
I hope you have all had a restful half-term and are all well. Please find this week's home learning below (Home Learning Spring 2021). As well as the suggested activities, I will run a zoom meeting for the children for the next couple of Tuesdays. It will be lovely to see the children again face-to-face, so I hope you can make the meetings.
We will continue to use our Dojo class page to keep in touch and I will be uploading the daily activities onto your child's portfolio, as I did before. We'll take it one week at a time and fingers crossed that the children will be able to return to Nursery soon!
This half term, we will be asking the question "Who can help I ask for help?", so there will be lots of activities to do with people who help us. I think this is a really interesting topic for the children and it's also very relevant during these times.
As always, if you need to get in touch, please message me using our Dojo app.
Mrs. Wensley.
Thank you again for all your hard work with the home learning activities. I've loved seeing the children's photographs, videos and work over the past six weeks. Have a well-deserved break next week and I'll be in touch after half term.
If you would like some extra fun activities to complete, Miss Swan and Mrs Walsh have organised a 'Half Term Newstead Challenge' for you and your families to have a go at!
Take care and stay safe!
Dear parents and carers of Acorn children,
Please scroll down to find your home learning section. It will be updated weekly with different activities you can do with your child at home during this lock down period. I will also be in touch daily on our class Dojo app, so please use this method of contacting me whilst we are not in nursery.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs. Wensley.
Welcome to Acorn Class!
We have had a great start to the new school year and the children have really settled in well. It's been lovely getting to know our new starters and seeing some familiar faces again.
Over the last few weeks, we have done lots of fun activities and I'm sure this will continue, as we head into the next half term.
Just to remind you, on a Monday the children will need to bring their wellies with them, as we have our 'Muddy Monday' session outside. Also, nursery children will need to come in 'sporty' clothes every Thursday, as they will be doing their Physical Development session with Miss. Martin on that day.
As always, if there are any questions, please speak to me or Mrs. Lambert at the beginning or end of a nursery session or send me a message using our Class Dojo.
Mrs. Wensley.
