This term, our topic has been all about Mills, Mines and Landscapes, with strong links to our local community. We have focused on the history of mining and have been lucky enough to discover how our village was once a thriving working mining village.
Through our learning, the children have explored the history and impact of mining on our local area and beyond.
We would love to hear from you! If any family members have stories, memories or items connected to the local mining history, we warmly welcome you to share them with us.
Do you have a family story, photograph or artefact linked to mining in our village? Please get in touch — we'd love to hear about it!
We are looking forward to our class trip at the end of term! This visit will link to our current topic and support our next science topic too. More details to follow — watch this space!
Our next science topic will be: 'What roles do different parts of the plant play in helping them grow healthily?'
Our class trip will give us a great head start as we begin to explore the wonderful world of plants!
