This year’s Easter Egg Competition was nothing short of eggs-traordinary! (Sorry, couldn't resist!)
With a staggering 64 entries filling the hall, the level of originality on display showed the imagination of our pupils.
What made this year truly stand out was how students bridged the gap between their classroom learning and their crafts. We saw history and science come to life in egg form, with clever tributes to:
Scientific Pioneers: From a gravity-defying Isaac Newton (complete with a tiny falling apple!) to a telephonic masterpiece inspired by Alexander Graham Bell.
Local Legends: The spirit of Nottinghamshire was alive with several scenes depicting Sherwood Forest, proving our students have a deep connection to our local folklore.
Modern Classics: The influence of popular TV shows and computer games added a contemporary flair that showed off the diverse interests of our school community.
Perhaps most touching were the scenes inspired by the jobs done by parents. Seeing "Egg-workers" fitting windows to a house, on scaffolding — added a lovely layer of real-world connection and family collaboration to the competition.
The judging was incredibly difficult this year due to the high standard of entries. We were delighted to announce the First, Second, and Third place winners from each year group in our special assembly.
Congratulations to all our winners! Your Easter egg prizes are well-deserved for the hours of "eggs-acting" work you put into your scenes.
